travels to Amsterdam & Belgium
We love to travel!!!!!! Seriously! If you haven’t taken the leap of faith to travel yet, I hope this little blog post encourages you to find that deal and travel!
The best way to explore Amsterdam is by water and by foot. We walked miles a day so we could eat the best goodies like above! We rented a pedal boat the first day and if you want a great workout than this is for you! Right by the Anne Frank house is the best place to get on the canal boats and pedal boats. We loved our canal ride and you can find the info here.
If you have been following me on Instagram you know we had quite the time with our Airbnb and needed to leave the situation. We ended up getting our money back from Airbnb and stayed at such a nice boutique hotel that we would not have wanted to spend the money on. The rooms were half off since we booked it so late and it was heaven!!!
Must things to do in Amsterdam with kiddos:
Anne Frank House
Canal rides
Van Gogh Museum
Rijksmuseum
Walk everywhere and explore new things, shops, art and food.
Bike- we did not try this because it was so busy, but it would be fun in the off season!
Eat!!!! We found the food to be good anywhere you go. Especially try the apple pie and pancakes!
Next stop was Belgium! We decided to break our trip in half since our Airbnb did not work out and it was the best thing that could have happened to us! We took a train and ended up in Brugge, Belgium which was like a little fairy tale!
Brugge is filled with old world charm. We loved experiencing it all for the first as a family. We were able to experience another canal ride and if you go please do one! It is so easy to get on and off the boat and a great way to see the city.
Things to do in Brugge:
Eat a lot of waffles!! Please! The best place we found was here.
Take a canal ride
Walk the 350 plus stairs up to the most fabulous views in the church in the main square.
Take a horse carriage ride. You can get right on a carriage in the main square.
Visit the Saturday market for the best food!
Eat a lot of chocolate! Go window shopping and chocolate tasting.
Eat the French fries!
Take a day trip to Ghent. Another quaint town!
Thank you for seeing a little of our journey with us!! If you have any questions please ask. I hope you are inspired to travel near or far. It is such a wonderful time to experience memories with our family as our kids have grown so much by these experiences!!!! All my love!
